This policy explains how the butterflyformac.com website and the Butterfly waitlist handle personal data. The short version: we only keep your email address, only to tell you when Butterfly launches.

Who is responsible

What we collect

Only your email address, when you join the waitlist. We also note which signup form you used (for example, the top of the page or the bottom) and the date you signed up.

Why, and on what legal basis

We use your email address for one purpose: to send you a launch notification. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you submit the form.

Who stores it

Waitlist emails are stored by our hosting provider, Lovable Cloud (Supabase), on servers in the United States (us-east-1), which is outside the European Economic Area. This transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until one month after launch, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.

Your rights

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Have your data deleted.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done before.
• Lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are used only after you agree. We do not use advertising trackers.

Analytics and cookies

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Ltd., to count visits and signups and understand how people find this page. No analytics data is sent until you agree. The _ga and _ga_* cookies last for up to 14 months. IP addresses are anonymized by GA4; we do not send your email address or other personal data to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain disabled.

We remember your Accept or Decline choice in your browser for 6 months. You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, then choosing Decline. This stops analytics and removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

The Butterfly app

When released, the Butterfly app itself collects nothing. It needs no account, works offline and sends no telemetry. The Screen Recording permission is used only for the Butterfly animation mode, and those snapshots never leave your Mac.
